Former NBA playmaker Stephon Marbury has become a big star in China since joining the China Basketball Association in 2010, and he’s turning his fame into a starring role in a movie.

According to The Wrap’s Beatrice Verhoeven, Marbury will star himself in a biopic titled My other house. Allen Iverson and Baron Davis will also be involved in the film.

Marbury spent 13 years with five NBA teams. During his run in the league, he made two all-star games and was named to the NBA Third Team twice. His work in China, however, arguably exceeded what he did in the United States.

The 39-year-old has helped lead the Beijing Ducks to three CBA titles (2012, 2014 and 2015). Not only does Marbury have a statue of him in Beijing, but he has also been honored with a musical about his life, his own museum and a Chinese Green Card, by Kiki Zhao of the New York Times.

The the Wall Street newspaperLilian Lin reported that Marbury took acting classes in Los Angeles and New York for two months to prepare for her role in My other house.

“It takes time – 12 hours a day – you have to keep the lines in mind and wait,” Marbury said.

According to Lin, the film is slated for release in the next ABC season, which typically runs from late October / early November through early February.
